EPL: ‘Often make decisions that upset people’ – Ramsdale opens up on relationship with Arteta

Former Arsenal goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale has revealed that the club’s boss, Mikel Arteta thanked him for his contribution at the Emirates Stadium following his exit this summer.

Ramsdale, a former Arsenal’s number one, left the club to join Southampton after losing his position to David Raya last season.

Ramsdale told talkSPORT that he spoke to Arteta last week, and the two thanked each other.

The Englishman refused to blame the Spaniard for freezing him out of the system but maintained that coaches sometimes take difficult decisions.

“Yeah, I only spoke to him last week. What he did for me in my time at Arsenal, I can only thank him for and he thanked me for my contribution as well,” he said.

“As a football club, getting back into the Champions League and pushing for a trophy and ultimately as manager’s do they often make decisions that upset people.

“He made that decision, but we still speak. I’m looking forward to getting some games under my belt here. We will play them in a few weeks time which will be a nice return,” he added.
